In the Physical Theatre Performance “Defining (i)dentity olo dentity oio dentity (I)dentity,” I was responsible for all visual communication and photography. The performance delved into the absurdity of how often reproductive organs are mistakenly associated with a person’s abilities, preferences, and behavior. Through thoughtful visual work, I highlighted the performance's critique of societal norms, such as gender-specific seating, the link between hair length and gender, and the color-coding of children. My photography and design aimed to emphasize the performance's core message: that, despite the many similarities between people of different genders, society continues to enforce a rigid binary system. By incorporating elements of personality, humor, and Rock’n’Roll, my visuals effectively supported and amplified the performance’s exploration of gender and sexuality myths.
