“Too Many Xes” is a photography project inspired by the process of finding inspiration. It explores the experience of wandering at night, during travel, or in encounters with people, seeking creative sparks. How often do we influence and inspire each other with ideas, colors, shapes, and sounds? In a way, we are always “contaminating” one another—sharing and absorbing creativity.
This isn’t a negative thing; rather, it’s impossible not to communicate or have an impact on those around us. We are like drops of water filling a larger pool. Through this project, I aimed to capture moments of “contamination” where there was no judgment or specific goal, simply the exchange of inspiration. For my work, the process of being influenced is more important than seeking a particular outcome. I wanted to make those invisible moments of influence visible.
